He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Knauf and Ruth Knauf; and his former wife Charmaine Gunderson. He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Knauf; his children, Andrea Cardon (David), Heidi Finan (Chris), Sara Briley (Aaron), Daniel Chacon (Amparo) and Kristin Deas (Geoff); and his grandchildren, Jennifer, Michelle, Phillip, Alan, Nick, Dylan, Donovan and Devin. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Sierra Club or National Resources Defense Council.
