She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Lee Brown and Robert Battiste; her brother Danny; and her nephews, Joe Jr., Lavell and Jordan.

She is survived by: her former husband Joseph Brown Sr.; her children, James Hodge J. (Marcelina) of Katy, Stephanie Hodge of Rialto and Cassa Hodge; her husband James Hodge Sr.; her children, Sheree, Brianna, Anthony, Kevin and Jerome; her grandchildren, Kimberly, Jasmine, Dylan, Makayla, Zoemy, Antonio, Cyanne, Cassa and Prior; and her siblings, Joe, Dennis, Bertha, Elizabeth and Denise. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and close friends.
