She was predeceased by: her parents, Michael William Nicotera and Dorothy Elizabeth Nicotera. She is survived by: her husband Bob Alpert; her daughters, Jennifer Herrera (J. C. Herrera) and Barbara Fetterly (Dennis Fetterly); her grandchildren, Kendra, Max, Kate and Dorothy; and her sister Malou Escobar (Larry Escobar).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
