She is survived by: her husband Jim; her children, Janet Burge (Bill Craighead) and John Burge (Diana); her granddaughters, Jennifer and Sara; her brothers, George, Dick and Don Merrill; and her in-laws, Dick and Fay Burge.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to Geneva Presbyterian Church or the Boys and Girls Club of Capistrano Valley (https://bgccapo.com), where Joan volunteered for many years.
