It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mercedes Cauntay Nicolas (Gonzales, California), who passed away on December 7, 2018, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her mother Genoveva Curaza; her stepfather Epitacio Curaza (Pete); her brother Joseph Caletisen; her father Antonio Caletisen; and her stepmother Maria Caletisen.
She is survived by: her stepchildren, Archie Cauntay (Ogie), Byron Cauntay (Anabel), Cherly Dagang (Dave) and Daisy Parcasio; and her children, Manuel Cauntay (Robin), Fred Cauntay (Patty), Grace Nilsen (Jeff), Howard Cauntay (Janet) and Irene Cumisky (Phil). She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
