She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Nico Wamelan and Maria Van Wamelan; her husband John Griffin; her children, Heidi Tobin of Modesto and Michael Berkhout of Modesto; her grandchildren, Colton, Sylvia Berkhout of Modesto, Kyle Westall of Modesto and Justin Stewart of Vallejo; and her siblings, Magda and Moses Van Wamelan of Delft, Netherlands.. She was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.

In Lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to The American Cancer Society.
