He is survived by: his wife Karen; and his children, Lisa Howard, Erik Litvinchuk and Katherine Harris. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 7 siblings and many nieces and nephews.

He instilled competence and confidence in generations of firefighters, taught us to be MACHO (Man/Mamma Able Call Home Okay), and to “improvise, adapt, and overcome.” He also gave us life lessons we didn’t know we were learning.
