It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Augustus Love in Blythe, California, born in Meridian, Oklahoma, who passed away on October 9, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Launzy Love and Beatrice Hider Love; his siblings, Calvin Love, Robert Love, Simmie Love, Alreece Luke, Erma Lee Smith and Minnie Harton; and his nieces and nephews, Lester Darnell Love, Donnie Love, Troy Love, Everett Love, Charlene Henderson and Evelyn Smith.
He is survived by: his spouse Eddie B. Jones; his daughters, Norma Stinson and Shelcie Love; his brother Alvin "A. C." Love; his granddaughter Raquel Love (Linda Sanchez); his great grandchildren, Meliton Sanchez (Sonhia), Alicia Phipps (Jeff) and Eric Sanchez (Tianna); his grandchildren, Meliton Sanchez IV (Jesseca), Alyssa Krisell (Clay), Blake, Hadley, JC Phipps, Savannah and Crew Sanchez; his great grandchildren, Maia Sanchez and Lyla Jo Krisell; his godchildren, Victor Carter and Morenike Babajide; and also Raquel Christine Love. He is also survived by his family and friends.
Jr. previously served on the Palo Verde College Foundation Board of Directors, Kiwanis Club, and supported local sports, 4-H projects, and other community initiatives.
