He was predeceased by: his parents, Josef Bernauer and Anna Bernauer; his mother-in-law Domenica Baldi; and his siblings-in-law, Donna Baldi, Michael Baldi and Emanuel Baldi.

He is survived by: his wife Rose Bernauer; his daughters, Domenica Bernauer and Ann Bernauer-Evans; his grandchildren, Marcus Evans, Alexandra Evans, Colin Evans and Hunter Cabrera; his sons-in-law, Dan Evans and Mario Cabrera; his siblings-in-law, Pasquale Baldi, Maria Baldi and Lynn Baldi; and his cousin Rosemarie Martins. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to The National Wounded Warrior Center in Mammoth Lakes would be appreciated.
