He is survived by: his friend Mary Baxter-Simmons; his son Joseph Quincy Baxter IV; his granddaughters, Elisabeth Hertel, Grace, Sarah and Katie Baxter; and his siblings, Frank Baxter, Genevieve Dunn and Mary Baxter-Simmons.
