He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Kimiko; his son The Honorable John H.; his granddaughters, Tara Mariko Sugiyama Potashnik (Stephen) and D. C. (Ashley Kimiko Glenn); his great grandchildren, Drew Stephen Potashnik, Keira Ashley Potashnik, Bodie John Glenn and Brecken David Glenn; his siblings, Masami Sugiyama (May), Osamu, Satoko and Kiyomi Uyeda; and his siblings-in-law, Ana Sugiyama and William Taniguchi. He was also cherished by 11 nephews and nieces.
