He was predeceased by: his parents, Eric Philemon and Madie Greer; his siblings, Rebecca, Ella Jo, Phil, Joseph "Bev", Francis and Bill Greer; and his brother-in-law Bill Mead.
He is survived by: his children, Walter Jr., Cindy and Shelly; his granddaughter Elizabeth (William); his brother Albert Greer; his siblings-in-law, Mike Mead (Irene) and Coraleen; his significant other Patty; and his sons, Walt Jr. and Greg. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
