She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, William Boeding and Charlotte Boeding of Houghton, Iowa.; her husband Thomas Michael Newton; her sons, Todd Newton (Michele) of Eugene and Tony Newton (Carolyn) of Seattle, Washington; her grandchildren, Connor, Riley and Sydney; and her siblings, Marita Meith (David), Neal Boeding (Gail), Bryan Boeding (Barb), Bonnie Boeding (Stewart), Bernadette Boeding (Johnson), Laura Boeding, Elaine Boeding (Thoman) and Bill Boeding (Janet). She was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her memory for the Arizona Humane Society.
