Dominique Camille Lefaive Neidig Obituary

Dominique Camille Lefaive Neidig, 32, born September 2, 1991 in Tucson, AZ, died November 7, 2023 in Tempe, AZ, of Metastatic Ovarian Cancer.

A 9:30 am Rosary and 10:00 am. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 25, at St. Mark the Evangelist, 2727 W. Tangerine Road, Oro Valley, AZ. If attending, she would prefer you to wear something floral or colorful. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Maggie's Place, Phoenix, AZ, or The Humane Society.

Dominique was a faith-filled devout Catholic who loved Jesus, Mary and St. Teresa of Avila. She chose for her high school Immaculate Heart with a little help from Fr. Liam Leahy. During the summers of her college years at Franciscan University of Steubenville, she traveled with Totus Tuus setting up and teaching a week of Bible teachings at various parishes throughout North Carolina. She did mission trips to Honduras and Lourdes in France. She joined the Rosa Mystica Household hence her love for Mary and roses. In 2014, she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a double major in Theology and Catechetics.

Upon graduation, she was a missionary at Our Lady of the Sea Parish in Bremerton, Washington, and then was Religious Ed. Director at St. Thomas Aquinas in Camas, WA. She returned to Phoenix to be a live-in Volunteer at Maggie's Place, providing safe housing for homeless pregnant women. For the last five years, she taught at Archway North Phoenix and Cicero Prep Great Hearts Academy's until becoming too ill to work.

Dominique loved crafts. Her grandma, Claudia Shinkel, taught her to sew and she took pride in making some of her clothes. She loved dancing, painting, needlepoint, and flowers. For her wedding, June 10, 2023, she crafted most of the decorations and made all the bouquets by painting and assembling wooden flowers. She also loved animals especially her kitties; Sgt. Pepper, Peter and Maggie. Dominique will always be remembered for her sense of humor, passion, unwavering spirit, and her faithfulness and inspiration to others.

Dominique is survived by her loving and supportive husband of just five months; Dustin Neidig, parents; Cindy Lefaive and Dan Shinkel, grandmother; Doreen Buyse Lefaive Huvaere, in-laws; Donna and Brian Neidig, sister-in-law; Aalia Neidig (Trent), and many aunts, uncles, cousins and her best friend Elisa Hoyack.

She was preceded in death by her father, Timothy Stroud; grandparents, Doris and JV Stroud, Francis Lefaive, Lawrence and Claudia Shinkel and her Uncle Mark Stroud.

We would like to thank everyone who has supported us through Dominique's illness especially Knights of Columbus Council #13272 Our Lady of the Rosary and Catholic Daughters of America Court #2709 Mother of Mercy, both in Oro Valley, AZ, and our loving family and friends.
