He was predeceased by: his former wife Ann Marie Johnson Beatty; his daughter-in-law Elizabeth McKenty; his parents, James W. Beatty and Evelyn Beatty; and his sister Peggy Sather.
He is survived by: his wife Catherine Phillips Beatty of Sierra Vista; his children, James J. Beatty (Anne) of Columbus, Matthew F. Beatty of Ocean Beach and Karen A. Schmidt (Jerry) of Appleton; his grandchildren, Linus J. Beatty, Zoe G. Beatty of Columbus, Mark J. Schmidt, Kyle M. Schmidt and Kaitlyn M. Schmidt of Appleton; and his siblings, Joan Tabak of Sierra Vista, Patricia Knauer of Scottsdale and Tom Beatty (Edith) of Sierra Vista. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
