He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Melton and Lyla Melton; his uncle Rex; his aunt Betty; and his cousin Roger.

He is survived by: his wife Patty Ann Stolze; his brother Ed Melton; his aunts, Karen Gerlach and Sue Gerlach; his uncle Eddie; and his cousins, Shelly, Wade, Donna, Marvin and Becky. He is also survived by 3 nieces and 3 nephews.
