He is survived by: his wife Lydia Chavez; his children, Jose Ruben Chavez Jr (Myrna), Maria Del Rosario Chavez, Martha Elva Chavez Sharp (Bill) and Leticia Chavez; and his brother Oscar Chavez (Leonor). He is also survived by 6 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.
