He was predeceased by: his wife JoAnn Stewart; and his siblings, Dale and Carol. He is survived by: his brother John; and his children, Michael (Leesa), Diane Koss (Tom), Susan Hawkins (Mark) and John (Arien). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
