He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Roy S. Grootegoed and Amelia Grootegoed (Maus); his wife Joan Grootegoed; his children, Chris Grootegoed (Beth), Susan Grootegoed (Steve Blaes), Michael Grootegoed, James Grootegoed (Wendy Mitchell), Robert Grootegoed (Desi) and David Grootegoed (RoseAnne); and his sister Jean Allen. He was also cherished by 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.
