He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Leon Dasher, Jr. and Agnes Dasher (Warder); and his sisters, Barbara Robertson (Jim) and Donna Dawson (Herb). He is survived by: his wife Linda; his daughters, Kelsie Stewart (Ty) of Ames, IA and Jil Dasher (Jamie Boling) of Iowa City, IA; his son-in-law Kevin O'Brien of Iowa City, IA; his grandchildren, Emma, Benjamin Stewart, Alexander, Lauren and Lillian O'Brien; and his sister Marilyn Houck of Mason City, IA.
In lieu of flowers , memorials may be given in John's honor for the Iowa State University Foundation, Iowa State University Alumni Foundation, or the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois; DOOR CANcer, Inc. or the Door County Medical Center Foundation; or Rotary International.
