He was loved and cherished by many people including: his siblings, Panagiotis Bouras and Vasiliki Bouras; his grandmothers, Vasiliki, Baba and Tripolis; his siblings, Spiro and Despina Stathopoulou; his son Panagiotis; his grandchildren, Iphigenia Maria and Athanasios (Tom); his wife Despina; his children, Pete, Dr. Mary Bouras and Tom Athanasios Bouras; his grandchildren, Andrew, Ekaterina, Phillip, Natalia Bouras, Alexandra and Iain Papayiannis; and his siblings, Maria Soundris, Alexandras Zonos, Nicholas Bouras (Vaso), Eleftheria Bicos (George), Athanasia Tzanidis (George), Zacharias, George, Spiros Bouras, Dimitra Petroulias and Eustathia Tagalakis. He was also cherished by godchildren and many friends.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Sotirios's memory to the St. Anthony Monastery or to Saint Sophia Cathedral (Los Angeles).
