He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Ruth De Lay (O'Brien); his son William Kelly De Lay; and his brothers, Roy and Dale De Lay. He is survived by: his children, Charlotte Michelle Yandell (George), Sandra Lynn LoPresti (John) and Robert Henry Van Dyne Jr.; and his sister Sharon Shilling (Bob). He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and family friends.
