He was predeceased by: his parents, Sebastian Ortiz and Innocencia Ortiz; and his siblings, Albert, John, Victoria, Pearl, Anthony and Mary.

He is survived by: his wife Adela Ortiz. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; on both his and his wife.
