He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Earl Martin and Lula Alice (Adolph); his former wife Elizabeth Ann Bilyeu; his children, Rhonda Leslie, Janice Short, Stephen Martin and John L. Martin II; and his siblings, Reva Baumgardner, Ralph Martin, Laveda Horst, Loretta Shaffstall (Lavina), Mary Blankley and Betty Browning Carter.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Susan Skinner; his sister Wanda Gravatt (Jeannie) of Indiana; and his daughters, Donna Lyons and Rebecca Renaud.
