He was predeceased by: his parents, W. C. Kernodle and Mickie Jones Kernodle (Ora Mae "Phillis"); his sister Lucile Kernodle McGuire; and his sister-in-law Camelia Kernodle. He is survived by: his spouse Miss Ora Mae "Phillis" Phillips of Henderson, Tennessee.; his children, Bill Kernodle (Lee) of Olive Branch, Kay Wittenberg of Metairie and Connie Machado (Ramon) of Ridgeland; his grandchildren, James Wittenberg, IV (Allison) of Texas, Daniel William A. Machado (Jacqueline) of Ohio, David Phillip Machado (Katie) of Alabama, Veronica Choukalas (Pete) of Germantown, Victoria Genevieve Kernodle of Olive Branch and Laura Gore of Florida; his brother Jere Kernodle of Wynne; and his close friend Daisy. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
