He was predeceased by: his parents, Berger Rivers Ellis and Laurel Jewel Brown Ellis (Barbara); and his siblings, Ira Ellis and Gloria Thomas. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Ann Davis; his children, Riley Paul Ellis, Jr. (Dallas) of Wynne, Donna Imboden (Pete) of Wynne, Robin Ellis (Paul) of Astoria, NY, Lori Taggart (Alan) of Augusta and Merikay Campbell (Watty) of Houston; his aunt Nina Spencer; his grandchildren, Harrell Brawner, III, Pete Imboden V (Cara), Lyle Brawner, Beau Brawner, Ali Imboden (Randy Thomas), Kade Haygood, Hayden Campbell, Tori Haygood (Zach Coats), Meri Clinen Campbell, Riley Ellis and Parker Ellis; and his great grandchildren, Jayden Burton, Addlee Brawner, Ava Imboden, Monroe Cuble, Pete Imboden VI and Summer Imoden.

Memorials may be made to Ellis Chapel Cemetery, 608 Hwy 193, Wynne, Arkansas or The Bridge Church, 209 Merriman Ave, Wynne, Arkansas.
