He was predeceased by: his mother Johnnie Gentry McNeal; his siblings, Robert Shirley McNeal and Annette McNeal Clark; and his daughter Nancy McNeal Alford. He is survived by: his wife Janell Cadenhead McNeal; his son J. W. McNeal, III (Ann); his grandchildren, Thomas McNeal (Dina), John McNeal, Dalal Sakaan Orman (Derek), Holly Sakaan, Eric Frames, Sam Sakaan and Cole Alford; and his great grandchildren, Brayden Frames, Layken Frames, Robbie Hannaman, Liam McNeal, Ramzi Orman and Josie Alford.
