He was predeceased by: his parents, William D. Smith and Ruby D. Smith; his sons, Michael Lee Smith and William Joel "Joe" Smith; his siblings, Rudale Smith Pickering and James Floyd Smith of Pontotoc, MS; and his great grandchild John-Hayden Blaine Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Sue Smith; and his sons, Dennis Lee Smith and Gary Leon Smith (Laura).
