He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Brad Madewell and Nora Madewell; his wife Virginia Swafford Madewell; his children, Larry Madewell (Janet), Leon Madewell (Debbie), Margie Good (Chris) and Diannah Good (Aaron); his brother Billy Madewell; and his grandchildren, Sean Madewell, Jessica Wilcox, Travis Harper, Jeff Madewell, Jason Madewell, Kayla Allen, Christi Caskey, Casey Good, Kandace Good, Ashley Townsend and Sarah Good. He was also cherished by eighteen great grandchildren.
