Shirley Sue Long Obituary
Shirley Sue Long, 71, of Trumann, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at NEA Baptist Hospital. She was born on September 4, 1950 in West Plains, Missouri to Raymond Hubert and Margaret Katherine Imogene Tidwell. She was a devout member of the Calvary Pentecostal Church, Trumann, Arkansas for approximately 36 years where she was a singer and musician playing many types of musical instruments. She was an LPN for 31 years, a published poet, and sang professionally in Branson. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include; her husband: William Long of the home; her mother: Imogene Baxter (Mike) of Searcy, Arkansas; six children: Tami Fitzgerald of Cherry Valley, Arkansas, Terry Fitzgerald (Kim) of Lake City, Arkansas, Jenny Fitzgerald of Columbia, Missouri, Deborah Allen (Matt) of Kennett, Missouri, Janet Rush (Brad) of Brookland, Arkansas, and Zach Long (Skylar) of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas; six grandchildren: Kaylee Douglas (Hunter) Lake City, Arkansas, Emily Fitzgerald of Lake City, Arkansas, Rylee Allen of Kennett, Missouri, Kennedy Allen of Kennett, Missouri, Vincent Rush of Brookland, Arkansas, and Jensen Long of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas; one great-granddaughter: Claire Douglas of Lake City, Arkansas; two brothers: Steve Tidwell of Judsonia, Arkansas and Charles Wilson (Kim) of Dover Florida; two sisters: Brenda Winters of Trumann, Arkansas and Taryn Sykes of Dover, Florida; and a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by; her father: Raymond Hubert Tidwell; and four brothers: Ricky Lynn Wilson, James Eugene (Jimbo) Tidwell, Danny Joe Tidwell and Kenneth Tidwell.
Pallbearers: Wesley Long, Terry Fitzgerald, Terry Tucker, Brad Rush, Matt Allen, and Zach Long.
Honorary pallbearers: Daniel Reithbawn, Jerry Banks, Hunter Douglas, and Roy Kilgore.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Calvary Pentecostal Church, Trumann, Arkansas with Pastor Ricky Forbis officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Springs Cemetery, Harrisburg, Arkansas under the direction of Faith Funeral Service. The family will receive visitors on Monday, May 30, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the church.
