She was loved and cherished by many people including: her grandmother June Tate Smith of Trumann; her husband Dr. Floyd A Smith; her sisters, Dortha Tate and Jeanetee Gibbs; her parents, John Tate and Sarah Ada Cookston Tate; her children, Carole Schlitt of Jonesboro and Bryan Smith (Lettie) of Harrisburg; and her grandchildren, Jennifer York and Lucas Miller. She was also cherished by three great-grandchildren.
