He is survived by: his wife Diane Bass; his daughters, Alicia Dickerson (Richard Porter) of Long Beach and Shawnte Bass-Merritt (Marshall) of San Antonio, Texas.; his grandchildren, Amanda "Dimps" Casul (Mario), Brenda Ann "Li', Imani, Jerome, Ishmael "Ishy" Wilburn, Adiel, Wilburn, James B. "Slick" Bass, Cordell "Money" Merritt, Richard "Rue" Porter and Shantrice "Princess" Merritt; and his siblings, Stoney Prowell of Grand Rapids, Annie Woods of Los Angeles, Jo "Chris" Bates (Will) of South Bend and Jolena Prowell of Benton Harbor.
