Sims D. of Sherwood, Arkansas, born in Searcy, Arkansas, who passed away on June 5, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred O. Sims and Opal Garrison Sims; and his sister Loretta Sims Reed. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Hutson Sims; his children, Sherry Carter (John), Eric Sims, Darren Etchison, Shanda Fortson (Johnny), Wendy Etchison and Jason Sims; his grandchildren, Jared Schnebelen, Kyle Schnebelen (Anna), Justin Fortson (Lindsay), Kerri Fortson, Michael Carter (Monica) and John Carter (Vanessa); and his great grandchildren, Wyatt, Avery Fortson, Calliope, Olivia Carter, McKenzie, Cannon Carter and Henry Schnebelen. He is also survived by family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Baptist Health Hospice who provided exceptional care to him in his final days.
