She was predeceased by: her father Angel Merchan; and her siblings, German Merchan and Rosa Alba Merchan. She is survived by: her children, Carolina Matus of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Miguel Carter of Searcy, Arkansas; her mother Carmen Espindola of Merchan; and her siblings, Ligia Merchan and South America.
