He was predeceased by: his parents, E. L. Toombs and Christine Olean Kittle Toombs; and his siblings, James Lee, Mack, Earl Wayne, Earline, Mary and Faye.

He is survived by: his son Steve Toombs (Tina) of Nashville; and his granddaughters, Britney of Nashville, TN and Tiffany Toombs of Nashville, TN. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
