He is survived by: his wife Sharon Kay Bates Burgess; his children, Benny Burgess (Nita) of Maynard, Timothy Burgess (Teka) of Pocahontas, Dotty Hindson (Rod) of Pocahontas and Angela Hancock (Scott) of Pocahontas; his sisters, Shirley Marlett of Maynard, Linda Leathers of Pocahontas and Kathy Reed of Pocahontas; and his daughter-in-law LeAnne Burgess of Pocahontas. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
