He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Mildred Jean Guessman; his son Garth Guessman (Corrie) of California; his sister Billie Tankersley; and also, Linda Coffman, Janice "Susie" Didion (Richard), Jimmy Courtney (Kathy) and Deborah Varga (Ernie). He was also cherished by 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
