He was predeceased by: his parents, Forest Carnes and Nirce Carnes (Raines); his wife Sandy; and his brothers, Donnie Carnes and Roger Carnes.

He is survived by: his daughter Edith Tims (David) of Maine; his grandson Christopher Tims; and his sister Diane Jones (Joe) of Newport.
