Bettye Poynor Obituary

We are sad to announce that on May 21, 2023, at the age of 90, Bettye Poynor of Newport, Arkansas, born in Tyler, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, James Thurman Minor and Addie Almeeda Minor (Battenfield); her husband Rev. Lory R. Poynor; and her siblings, Earl Dean Minor and Margie Pauline Forrester.

She is survived by: her children, Robert Dane Poynor (Carla) of Newport and Lori Jane Poynor (James Wilkerson, Jr.) of Newport; and her grandchildren, Brandon Lucas Poynor (Brittany) of Harrison, Patrick Lane Poynor of Fort Riley and Emily Lauren Fortener (Cody) of Alpena. She is also survived by five great grandchildren and two on the way; several nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.

Throughout her life, Mrs. Poynor made significant contributions to various organizations and associations.
