He was predeceased by: his parents, George Neil and Euna Mae Nelson (Langston); and his daughter Susan Lynn Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Ann Joyce; his daughters, Laura Ann Penny (David) of Springdale, Arkansas. and Marcy Lea McCroskey (David) of Springdale, Arkansas.; his grandchildren, Megan Brown (Luke) of Centerton, AR, Mallory Hodges (Jordan) of Frontenac, Kansas, Audrey Hamer (Thomas) of Springdale, AR, Mac, Maddie and Josie McCroskey; and his brothers, Larry Gene Nelson (Brenda) of Rogers, AR and Thomas Lee Nelson (Sandi) of Takoma, WA. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to MHHS Bomber Band Boosters, Mountain Home Education Foundation, First Baptist Church of Mountain Home, or Hospice of the Ozarks.
