He was predeceased by: his significant other Kay McDaniel; and his parents, Charles McDaniel of Hatfield and Doris Eileen Ellis of Chapel Hill. He is survived by: his children, Michael McDaniel of Roanoke, VA, Karen Epperly (Stephen) of Dublin, VA, Sherri Powell (Duane) of Mena and Kevin McDaniel (Melody) of Mena; and his grandchildren, Christopher McDaniel (Jenna Marunich), Nicholas McDaniel (Samra), Katelyn Keck (Steve), Connor Epperly, Piper Epperly, Skylar Epperly, Ashlee Powell, Adam McDaniel, Lexi Powell (Warren McPherson), Cameron McDaniel, Cisley McDaniel and Kaylynn McDaniel. He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren.
