Sylvia Gale Ray Obituary

Sylvia Gale Ray, 55, of Maynard, Arkansas passed away on October 26, 2022 at her home. She was born on November 21, 1966 in Doniphan, Missouri to Duell and Pearlie Lewis Avery. Sylvia was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Pocahontas for many years. She enjoyed camping, hiking, and fishing with her family and grandson.

Survivors include; one son: Kevin Ray of Maynard, Arkansas; mother: Sharlean Avery of Maynard, Arkansas; one grandson: Issac Ray of Maynard, Arkansas; four brothers: Vincent Avery (Tab) of Pocahontas, Arkansas, Doyle Avery (Angie) of Scranton, Arkansas, Dale Avery (Lisa) of Maynard, Arkansas, and Daniel Avery (Laura) of Pocahontas, Arkansas; one sister: Loretta Avery of Cherokee Village, Arkansas; and a host of other family and friends.

Sylvia is preceded in death by; her husband: Lonnie Ray; one daughter: Crystal Ray; and her father: Duell Avery.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at the Church of God of Prophecy (3128 Ar-115 N; Pocahontas, Arkansas 72455) at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Daniel Avery officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church from 12:00 noon until service time. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Pitman, Arkansas under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.
