He was predeceased by: his former wife Betty Lou Ashcraft Merrick; his brothers, Gene Merrick and Jim Merrick; and his parents, Hale Merrick and Ruby Merrick (Burlison).
He is survived by: his wife Mollie Jackson Merrick of Marion, Arkansas.; his daughter Mary Lounett Merrick of Sacramento, California.; his stepson Neal Jackson (Lori) of Marion; his sister Susy Philhours (Joel) of Birmingham, Alabama.; and his sister-in-law Bettye DaVault Merrick of Memphis, Tennessee.. He is also survived by Several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
