She was predeceased by: her parents, Rupert Taylor and Pauline Womack Taylor; and her brother Robert A. "Sid" Taylor. She is survived by: her husband Thommie Duke Herndon; her son James L. Atkins III (Brenda) of Ottawa, KS; her brother Bruce Burson of Gum Springs, AR; and her stepchildren, Lisa Herndon Armstrong (James), Brett Stuart Herndon (Ramona), Ashley Herndon Eldridge (Scott) of Little Rock and Barton Todd Herndon (Amy) of Ft. Leavenworth, KS. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
