He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Burks and Naomi Graff Burks; his wife Shirley Burks; his daughter Patricia Bowden; and his siblings, Chuck, Paul, Ernest, Bill Burks, Rachel Turner, Grace Humphrey and Peggy Jackson.
He is survived by: his sons, Paul (Kathy), Jesse (Lisa), John (Sandy) and Jimmy Burks. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
