He was predeceased by: his parents, William Lamar Jones and Thelma Phelps Jones. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Britt of Snow Lake; his children, J. Michael Jones (Patti) of Little Rock and Leigh Anne Jones Conduff of Cartersville; and his granddaughters, Anne Jones Williams (Drew), Katherine Britt Jones, Lexie Conduff Feltman (Gregory), Meredith Conduff Garrison (Todd) and Caitlin Conduff Sharpe (Harrison). He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
At various times, he served on the board of directors of Midland-Odessa Symphony Orchestra, Young Life, Midland Memorial Hospital and Midland Memorial Foundation.
