Carolyn Cox Thornton Obituary
We are sad to announce that on August 31, 2020, at the age of 89, Carolyn Cox Thornton of Hope, Arkansas, born in Texarkana, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lucie Mary Atkinson Cox and Chesley B. Cox; her husband Oris Bryant Thornton; her daughter Lesley Day Thornton; and her sister Loretta Cox Stuckey.
She is survived by: her daughters, Lucie, Laura, Lisa (Bob) and Lynne; her sister Sylvia Hamer; her grandchildren, Leigh, Victorine, Julien, Lesliana, Claire and Hannah; and her pets, Rosie and Daisy. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, cousins.
The family requests that you please observe social distancing and wear a mask.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Hope or to the UAHT Foundation for the Carolyn Thornton nursing scholarship.
