He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert "Polly" Black and Wilma Black; and his sister Carolyne Hunnicutt. He is survived by: his wife Dee Mathis Black; his children, Kristy Grunwald (Doug), Jenny Simmons (Jason) and Robert III Black (Abby); his grandchildren, Elleson, Molly Grunwald, Owen, Ethan Simmons, Wyatt and Will Black; his sister Thea Mathis (Black); his aunt Lola Mae Ladd; and his brother-in-law Mike Owen. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, cousins.
