She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Houston Monroe Childress and Lizzie Mae Rambin Childress; her former husband Joseph Franklin Spencer; her brother Henry Childress; her husband Frank Spencer; her children, Lori Sherman (Phil) of Fayetteville and Steven Spencer (Karen) of Fayetteville; her grandchild Hayden Sherman (Louise); her sister-in-law Kathryn Childress; and her nieces, Dawn Childress and Shawn Watkins.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, graveside services at Fayetteville National Cemetery will be limited to immediate family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church, 20 E Dickson Street, Fayetteville, Arkansas 72701.
