Shirley Forbes Thomas Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Forbes Thomas (Fayetteville, Arkansas), who passed away on August 1, 2020, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her significant other Rev. Loyd Thomas; her children, Jeffrey, Lori, Cindy, Melody, Isaac, Stephen and Megan; her sisters, Jean Belknap, Laura Lester (Bobby) and Judy Wildman (Stan); her sons, Joshua and Jon Jon; her grandchildren, Caitlin, Loyd and Shirley; her adoptive parent Together; and her friends, Ann, Tanya Smoot and Cheryl Kester. She was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews; and nine grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Westridge Free Will Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Friendship Free Will Baptist Church in Rose Bud, Arkansas, or one of two scholarship funds in her name at John Brown University—the Dr. Shirley Forbes Thomas Distinguished Professor Endowed Scholarship or the Shirley Forbes Thomas Endowed Honors Scholarship.
